Our Mission
The Friends of the Crawford House works to celebrate the past, unite the present, and educate the future of the Tinton Falls community.
The Friends of the Crawford House are dedicated to preserving, protecting, and promoting local history and natural resource conservation through displays, programs, tours, and other educational activities. The Friends will maintain and preserve the Crawford House as a center where they will collect, catalog, preserve and display artifacts and printed materials that document the history of the Borough of Tinton Falls and the Crawford family. The Friends will also make available to the public information about local nature trails, ecology, and environmental issues.
Our Values
- Celebrate local history. As a historic house, we document and interpret the history of the Tinton Falls and the surrounding community that built around it.
- Community-focus. We bring people together. We believe the Crawford House should be there as a resource and support to all members of the local Tinton Falls community, we want to be welcoming and engaging to all.
- Historic and environmental education. We believe in the importance of both historic and environmental education in ensuring a vibrant future for our local community and world.
- Hands-on & active. We actively use the Crawford House to engage people in learning and exploration.
Our Borough Connection
The Crawford House is owned by the Borough of Tinton Falls, and the Friends of the Crawford House work with the Borough’s Historic Preservation Commission to provide programming and coordinate events at the house. The Friends seek to defray maintenance costs and to support our programs through volunteer involvement, donations, and fundraisers.
