The Crawford House is the heart of Tinton Falls history. This area was home to one of the earliest ironworks in colonial America, and the house itself sheltered four generations of the Crawford family, who ran their butcher shop here for a century. We preserve and share that heritage through tours, exhibits, and hands-on programs. Stop by, browse the farm stand, and help us keep our community's story alive.

Oral Histories now available!

There you will find a collection of oral history interviews that were conducted by Historic Commission members between 1994 and 2011, with a variety of long-time borough residents. Historical deed to Tinton Falls now hangs in Borough Hall

Mounted in the lobby of borough hall, this is a copy of the original 1674 deed transferring ownership of lands occupied by the Tinton Manor Iron Works from local Native Americans to the European settlers. The original is in the Princeton University Library, and this copy was donated to the borough by former resident, and Native American descendant, Claire Garland.
